Our aims in teaching History are to foster a lasting interest and curiosity in the subject in and beyond school and to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for an appreciation of the enormously rich historical background both in our locality and the wider world.

We believe that it is important to explore and enquire so we encourage students to ask questions and to plan their own investigations. We are lucky to live in a place steeped in history and we enjoy taking students out of the classroom to visit sites such as Basingwerk Abbey, Greenfield Valley and the war monuments in Holywell town. Other educational visits include Berlin, London, Krakow and Liverpool.
